about winter

Hi there!
I just wanna tell that this year is very much different from past years because though I am still frightened of cold, snow, wind and other not pleasant things which winter usually brings, still, this year I am glad it came. New year is so soon, by the way.
So, I expected this winter to be amazing :)

Before I tried to keep away not only from leaving home often but from fashion shoots dedicated to winter either. Very silly but they made me cold))) but at the moment I like them a lot. Here are some of my favorite pics. Enjoy and dress warmer!:)

about Dior, couture, perfection and beauty

Hi there!
How are you?
Yesterday with +Anastasya Lopatina we visited an exhibition "Dior Couture by Patrick Demarchelier" in Manezh, Moscow. If you are in Moscow and have not seen it yet you should do it asap as it will be closed on April, 3.
It was fascinating and amazing. It took my breath away when I looked at the photos with Dior's, Galliano's and Simons's masterpieces. All the dresses, all the attires are so beautiful that it takes your breath away when you are looking at them.
Two years ago we went to see another exhibition "Dior. Inspiration" and I felt the same way. Nobody can stay indifferent to the creations of Christian Dior and his successors. But yesterday's exhibition paid special attention only to those two. And so does the world.
And I want to share my thoughts about this case with you.
I thought over the changes in Dior for a while and couldn't figure out at once what was my attitude to the newcomer Raf Simons after exile of J.Galliano from the house. A lot of people were shocked by this case and most of the people, I am sure, felt that it meant the end of the magnificent era in the fashion in general, not only in Dior, because there is no one like Galliano and nobody can compete with him in creating such unbelievable marvelous clothes, though it's really difficult to call his creations "clothes".  They are much more than just real-life clothes. He created not for a real world. Galliano was of a different kind. Galliano was from the world of romantic fantasies and fairy-tales. And this epoch ended.
So, we all lived in expectations what Simons will show us. And as for me, I wasn't disappointed at all. Surprisingly. Yes, his creations are simpler. Yes, they can easily be worn in real life. In his work R.Simons wisely decided to follow Dior founder's steps not his predecessor Galliano. Otherwise, everybody would tell that he just copies or imitate the latter's works. But Simons does not copy Christian Dior's designs either. He closely inspected archives, and than, taking the best ideas and innovations by C.Dior created his own masterpieces. And he does it very well. And I am really happy and satisfied to see what he is doing. From my point of view, the reason is that he is closer to Dior than Galliano was.
And I am so in love with Dior's looks that it makes me happy. The concept of yesterday's exhibition was to show that Dior's designs, Dior's new look was, remains and will always be alive and modern. Can't disagree. Dior was a real genius to create something like this. New look silhouettes seem so simple but really, it is the best way to show perfect beauty of every woman.
And among all the looks from yesterday's exhibition my favorite was a red dress with rose-print. For me it is the best of the best.
And what do you think?

about love

Love is in the air, because spring has finally come. I am really a huge fan of spring and I never get tired of confessing it.
Today I don't want to talk about something serious. I just want to show you a very cute ad. I love beautiful advertisements and especially romantic ones. And one of my favorites is the one I saw in Italian Vogue last year. This photo is full of tenderness and it is symbolised with the mood which is ruling now -the mood of expecting something big and important, the mood of love.
It is in the air and it is wonderful.
By the way, I continue practicing to draw and I want to show you my latest picture.
I wish you great LOVE with your soulmate! :)
Enjoy this day and be happy!;)

about plaids, birthday in the suburbs, Dries van Noten and Marc Jacobs.Curious?;)

Hi there!
How is your day today?
I am great! Really!
Right now I am preparing for the friend's birthday party that will take place outside the city, in a cottage with fireplace inside, forest around the house... Well, it is chilly in the street and I doubt that I will go to the forest. But the fireplace will reeeaally help me.
I have thought for a long what I gonna to wear but decided that the most important thing is not to feel cold. So, I will put on delicate pale pink sweater and plaid shirt so as to feel comfortable and cozy))))
Plaid is one of my favorites this season and always. And I am glad that a lot of designers used plaid prints in their collections: ! As you can notice, I fell in love with those outfits by Marc Jacobs for his second line Marc by Marc Jacobs and be Dries Van Noten. Speaking about the latter, his collection turned out divine! It holds your breath how he mixes prints and textures. I like the idea and am going to use it when it is already warm in my place..

Anyway, check out photos, enjoy your day and good luck! :)

about Vogue Korea and sunny photoshoots

Hi there!
How are you?
Today is a perfect day! Today is the first of March which means that spring has officially come! Yeaaaah, Panda!
I am happy too much! If you see me now, you will be surprised at all that dancing, jumping, singing by me. Just kidding. But it does mean a lot to me. Spring is a symbol of freedom, new inspiration, new happiness, new life. When air is so fresh and mild, you feel you are getting stronger and more capable of everything.
In spite of the fact that today we don't have spring weather at all, on the opposite, it is cold and snowy again (what I hate already), I am glad that winter months left us. Yeaaaah!
And to congratulate everybody with this day, I want to show you one of my favorite photo shoots ever. It is all about sun, beach and actually, it is more about summer than spring, but these photo shoots seem to match today perfectly. And I have drawn an illustration of one of the shoots again :)
These photos were published in Vogue Korea, I don't know when exactly. Not long ago, I suppose. Every time I look at them, I want to leave this cold country for some warm and hospitable place. By the way, I strongly recommend you to look at the website of Vogue Korea. All the photo shoots there are amazing and though I learned Korean several years ago, it is a pity now I can't read articles there. So only looking at pics is left for me :)
I will show you all my favorite photosets someday. There are lots of them.
Have fun and good luck today!

about Viktor&Rolf's Cinderella's dress

Hi there? How are you?
I decided to watch once again some shows ss'13. And now, looking at pieces created by Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, it struck my mind that one of the dresses reminds me an attire from a Disney cartoon. It took some time to remember all the princesses' gowns from all the cartoons seen by me)))) I am still not sure whether this dress is the one which was reminded but I think that it is 97% the right one.
Ok. Remember that dress Cinderella wanted to put on to go to the ball first of all? The one mice helped her to sew? Well, that is it))) But V&R's dress isn't the exact copy of the finished version in the movie. It looks like this dress when still being made, without all the decorations except little bow on the waist. When I watched this cartoon I wanted the dress just to stay unfinished, to stay as simple as it was but nobody listened to the prayers of a small girl who watched this cartoon for one million times)))))
Returning to the creation by the design duo: maybe, that is because I still like Cinderella as almost the rest of Disney's production and maybe, I am still like a small girl who wants to become a princess, but I want the dress by V&R badly.

And are there any attires from Disney's cartoons that you like and dreamed to have when you were small? It is always interesting to compare wishes we had in childhood..
Well, take a look at the dresses, agree or disagree with me, have a wonderful day and good luck! :)

about Haider Ackermann

He was one of the cadidates to succeed Galliano in Christian Dior. Karl Lagerfeld thought of him as his successor in Chanel too. Sometimes people call him a new Yves Saint Lauren. But he is one of a kind. I love his designs. Drapes, layers, deep rich colors and mixes of textures..not every designer has the knowledge how to make a woman look so unbelievably beautiful. Haider Ackermann has his recognizable features in design but every time he uses them differently. You always wonder, what he will show next season, because it almost takes your breath how he manages to make such difficult constructions to look so loose, relaxed. For now, I still can't forget his collection ss'13. Everybody accepted that it was a new step forward and he confeesed himself that it was a new experience for him too. Never has he used prints like these: various kinds of dots, squares. I madly in love with the ways he mixes dots, squares and stripes, I madly in love with the ways he drapes women's bodies, I madly in love with the colors he uses, though for this collection he mostly chooses classic black&white and plenty tones of grey. And as in his previous collections, there are reminiscents of japanese traditional clothes: kimono, samurai armours. And I want to tell it once again, I am madly in love with his designs.
I haven't found my ideal black dress (I really dream about midi or maxi black dress), but this french designer nearly every year provides me with variants to choose from.
there are sceptics who doubts whether these clothes are wearable and suitable for everyday life. And I have no idea if they are comfortable and practical either. But all the pieces seem so fabulous that it doesn't matter really.
P.S: below is one of my favorite outfits for the current season and I can't help drawing it))
Let's hope that soon Mr.Ackermann will show us something new and great.

about sameness

about an amazing chinese brand

And today I'll continue with it:

It’s always great to discover something new, something unique, something that not a lot of people know about. It gives you a feeling of your own remarkable personality (and we all know that every person in the world is unique and remarkable, but not everybody remembers and realizes that).

Well, keeping in mind this, I entered the MSU and decided to learn Khmer (“OMG! What is that?”))) -a language spoken in Cambodia. But right now it’s not the point.
I want to tell you about a designer whose website I came across just yesterday. But I am already so in love with his clothes!
His name is Qiu Hao and he is from China. His clothes are enigmatic and tempting and at the same time, it’ s so simple and understandable. But it just seems to be it. The more you look at his works, the more you understand that you don’t understand anything.
He, as many of his colleagues from China, has this great taste and talent in fashion which western designers almost never have (I think it deals with the major points of western and eastern cultures, religions, traditions). Though Qiu Hao spent time studying in Central Saint Martins in London, his designs are all eastern. And it’s so great!
My favourite among his designs I have already seen is a big pillow-like white coat. It’s seems very cozy, warm, friendly, but also very shrewd, proud and dignant. And these words I am saying about the coat!))) doesn’t matter.
I like these clothes and I think that when somebody’s creation makes you think, it is the best praise for the creator.
On The first page of Qiu Hao’s website there are words: “Don’t ask me about inspiration… Image is a simple way of saying complicated things”. So true in his case!
By the way, here is a link. Check his web out!

to be continued..
